Bystronic showcases Beyeler Xpert press brake at FABTECH

At the Las Vegas FABTECH/AWS/Metalform trade show, Bystronic showcased the 10,000th Beyeler Xpert press brake, a system that offers users simplified repetition accuracy. The Beyeler Xpert comes equipped with a comprehensive database based on material bend allowances and extensive empirical bending knowledge, making it possible for virtually anyone to be a bending professional independent of previous operator experience. The open control makes it possible to change all calculations individually. All major tooling styles are supported by the Xpert and its database.
Xpert dynamically adjusts ram position and crowning during the bending process in response to material properties. It introduces no angle errors itself and delivers a high level of repetition accuracy (0.00015-in. ram positioning). With the touch of a single button, the bending sequence and the positioning of the backstops are determined, the tool plan is created, and the process data is generated—all automatically.
Among its features are:
- Automatic bend sequence calculation and back gauge positioning
- Automatic setup plan and tool selection
- Dynamic material thickness detection
- Automatic compensation for tensile strength variations
- Dynamic crowning and frame deflection compensationIncreased manufacturing efficiency through reduced set-up times and reduced scrap
