Challenge Mfg. to build two plants in Michigan

Challenge Mfg. LLC, a Tier 1 supplier in Walker, Mich., has announced plans to open two new factories in Michigan: a $65.5 million, 430,000-sq.-ft. assembly plant in Watertown Township, and a $50 million, 450,000-sq.-ft. facility in Pontiac.

The new manufacturing facilities, which will provide the additional space the company needs since winning new contracts, are expected to create a total of 820 jobs. The firm makes metal stampings and components for automakers.
