Coe Press Equipment names director of quality and lean manufacturing

Coe Press Equipment, a provider of coil handling equipment and cut-to-length systems in Sterling Heights, Mich., has appointed Subramaniam Manivannan as director of quality and lean manufacturing, a new position developed to help the company accommodate expansion into new areas.

Before joining the company, he was director of global continuous improvement at Franklin Electric and director of quality and continuous improvement at the aluminum wheels division of Accuride in Erie, Pa. He also served as quality lead at several assignments with Ford Motor Co. as well as supply chain manager at Rolls Royce.

Manivannan has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a postgraduate diploma in materials technology from the University of Trondheim, Norway. He has a master’s degree in engineering, manufacturing systems from Lawrence Technological University and a postgraduate diploma in quality assurance from Conestoga College. He also holds a Six Sigma Black Belt.
