Die design class to start in January

Accurate Die Design Software, Brookfield, Wis., has announced that its president/founder Ray Proeber will teach a die design class for the Technology and Manufacturing Association (TMA) in Schaumburg, Ill. The 20-week class runs January to May 2018.

The class will focus on designing progressive dies and also will cover blanking dies, single-hit form dies, compound dies, and transfer dies. Using SolidWorks® 3-D CAD software and Logopress3 die design software, students will design numerous strip layouts and at least one progressive die. They also will animate their progressive die as if it were running in the press.

Students will learn interference detection and dynamic interference detection (collision as the strip is lifting and advancing through the die and as the die is cycling open and closed) and will practice it on their dies. They also will learn to make 2-D drawings for the 3-D die they design, including a bill of materials and options for detailing the 2-D drawings.

For more information, contact Ray Proeber at 262-938-9316 or the TMA Education Department at 847-825-1120. Space is limited to 10 students.
