Micro Stamping Corp. opens development center

Micro Stamping Corp. has opened its Frank Semcer Development Center (named for the company founder and father of the company's current president), located on the site of its headquarters in Somerset, N.J.

Occupying approximately 4,000 sq. ft. of the company's 70,000-sq.-ft. headquarters, the development center allows design engineers and toolmakers to interact simultaneously in the product design and production processes. The development center currently has 15 design engineers and toolmakers.

The center also is designed to provide a functional space where customers can work hand-in-hand with the company's development group on new product development, cost-reduction initiative programs, prototyping/preproduction runs, and process development.

Among the center's equipment and software are Agie Wire EDM, a laser welding machine, an Amada programmable press brake, assorted preproduction stamping equipment, and SolidWorks design stations. The ISO-9001-, ISO-13485-, and QS-9000-certified center serves the medical, automotive, electronics, industrial, and aerospace industries.
