Quintus delivers high-pressure fluid cell press to Gulfstream facility in Mexico

Quintus Technologies, Columbus, Ohio, has delivered a Quintus® Flexform high-pressure fluid cell press to the Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. facility in Mexicali, Mexico, a producer of wiring harnesses, sheet metal components, subassemblies, and machined parts.

The press uses one rigid tool half; the other half is a flexible rubber diaphragm under uniform hydrostatic pressure. This design approach eliminates several forming operations, intermediate heat treatments, and operator dependencies.

The 17,000-ton press-force fluid cell press applies a forming pressure of 11,600 PSI over a forming area of 27.6 by 72 in.
