Schuler AG supports vocational training in Mexico

Schuler AG, Gӧppingen, Germany, has opened a vocational training center, Cedual (Centro de Especialización Dual), in Puebla, Mexico, to train skilled staff to provide technical support for the company’s presses. Set up by Stefan Antel, general manager of Schuler, the center is based on the German apprenticeship model of dual education and training.

The training center has enough space to train 90 industrial mechanic and tool mechanic apprentices. The course is based on the curriculum for apprenticeships in industrial engineering professions. The center is equipped with drilling, turning, milling, and grinding machines, as well as 30 workbenches. In addition, German instructors teach the apprentices in an audiovisual lecture theater and three classrooms.

On completing their three-year course, the future skilled workers are awarded a certificate from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK). This is equivalent to the qualification received in Germany.
