Service Stampings adds portable CMM to quality department

Service Stampings Inc., a Willoughby, Ohio-based short-run metal stamping manufacturer and steel fabricator, has added a FAROArm to its quality department.

The portable coordinate measuring machine (CMM) is intended to increase the throughput of the quality department's statistical process control (SPC) capabilities. It can be programmed to analyze a part's geometries quickly, reducing the amount of time any part has to spend in quality control. The unit also allows reverse engineering from customer-provided samples.
