Sko-Die Inc. acquires fineblanking/metal stamping business of Harig Mfg.

Morton Grove, Ill.-based Sko-Die Inc., a manufacturer of custom steel laminations and heavy gauge metal stampings, has acquired the fineblanking and metal stamping business of Harig Mfg. Corp., a manufacturer of precision parts for the automotive, appliance, power tool, aerospace, and controls industries based in Niles, Ill.

Harig’s fineblanking and metal stamping operations have been incorporated into the Sko-Die facility. The equipment now installed at the Morton Grove plant includes four fineblanking presses, two 160-ton presses, and two 250-ton presses. These presses can run parts from 0.060 to 0.375 in. thick, including circular parts up to 5 in. OD and straight parts up to 8 in. long. Two deburring systems also have been moved into the facility, and two of Harig’s experienced operators have joined the Sko-Die staff.
