United Tool & Die acquires Smith Brothers Machine Co., changes name

United Tool & Die Co. Inc., Wilmington, Mass., a contract manufacturer specializing in wire EDM; manual machining; and metal stamping, grinding, and forming, has acquired Smith Brothers Machine Co., a precision CNC milling and turning company located in Rockport, Mass.

Following the acquisition, United Tool & Die has changed its name to United Tool & Machine Co. Inc. The company serves the medical and industrial sectors, while Smith Brothers brings expertise in defense, electronics, and microwave applications.
