Swagelok® welding system receives award

The M200 power supply from Swagelok Co., Solon, Ohio, has been recognized by Gases & Instrumentation International with a 2010 Golden Gas Award. The power supply received the only Gold Award in the weld category.

The Golden Gas competition evaluates products on their ability to solve an important challenge to the gas industry. This is the third consecutive year that a Swagelok product has been honored with a Gold Award.

A panel of industry experts rated the power supply in eight categories, including technological innovation; environmental attributes; specifications in terms of power requirements, speed, footprint, and maintenance; cost effectiveness; and other quality considerations.

The power supply has touchscreen operation for orbital welding. Users can choose from three forms to enter weld programs, including automatic weld schedule programming. The patent-pending, automatic shield gas control requires no use of a separate flowmeter, which helps simplify shielding gas setup.

The unit works with all currently available Swagelok weld heads. It includes four USB ports, USB device (output) port, VGA output, and serial port.
