Jetcam International s.a.r.l., Monaco, a developer of CAD/CAM software, and InspecVision Ltd., Ireland, a manufacturer of photogrammetry measuring systems for flat and folded parts, recently announced that they will collaborate on technical and commercial levels to provide enhanced integration between their products.
Companies that are looking to reverse-engineer components will benefit from the ability to scan a previously manufactured part and generate NC code for a nest of those components within seconds, Jetcam reports. Once parts are manufactured, they can then be scanned and compared with the original electronic file for accuracy.
InspecVision users will be able to use Jetcam's SCAP (Single Component Automatic Processing) facility. This allows the InspecVision system to provide the Jetcam Expert CAD/CAM software with a CAD file produced from a scan of a component, which then is automatically tooled, nested, sequenced, and generated as NC code for a specified machine. The process is completely automated, and CAD files can automatically be tooled or profiled for any CNC machine tool configured within the Expert system.
