Laboratory Testing Inc., an independent testing and metrology laboratory in Hatfield, Pa., has announced that Phil Trach, its NDT technical coordinator, has been approved as an NDT MIL-STD-2132 Examiner in contact ultrasonic testing (UT). He also holds MIL-STD-2132 Examiner certification in immersion UT, which he earned in 2009. Each certification was awarded after successful completion of an extensive assessment process on the specific method of UT, including written and operational examinations on general theory, specifications and standards, UT methods, and UT equipment.

Trach joined the company in 2005 as NDT technical coordinator after having worked for Specialty Ring Products and Custom Alloy. He is a graduate of Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
