Foerster to supply NDT systems for Benteler's new Louisiana tube production facility

Institut Dr. Foerster GmbH & Co. KG, Reutlingen, Germany, has announced that it will supply NDT systems for Benteler’s new seamless, hot-rolled steel tube production facility, currently under construction in Shreveport, La. Foerster also will provide the entire mechanics with tables and drivers, including automation, and will integrate all test instruments into the plant's finishing lines.

The instruments will ensure that wall thickness and tube OD meet all requirements, and that eventual surface defects will be traced reliably, the company states.

The plant will produce tubing for the energy generation, oil and gas production, chemical, and petrochemical industries.
