Ophir gets new name, expands facilities

Ophir Photonics, formerly known as Ophir Laser Measurement Group, has announced the expansion of its U.S. manufacturing and distribution facility in Logan, Utah. The plant, now 30 percent larger, features beam profiling design, manufacturing, testing, service, and a power and energy service and calibration lab.

Laser measurement instruments, including power and energy meters, beam profilers, spectrum analyzers, and goniometric radiometers, form the core of the Ophir Photonics Group. The group also incorporates Photon Inc.'s experience with laser and fiber beam characterization. Photon's scanning-slit NanoScan profilers provide precision measurement of CW and kHz pulsed laser beams across the spectrum from UV to far infrared. The scanning-slit technology can measure beam size and position to submicron resolution.
