Santa Fe, N.M.-based Sigma Labs Inc., a developer of in-process, nondestructive quality inspection systems for metal-based additive manufacturing and other advanced manufacturing technologies, has signed a technology cooperation agreement with Additive Industries B.V. Based in the Netherlands, privately held Additive Industries develops next-generation 3-D printing equipment, using a shared AddLab with a number of industrial partners to design improved, integrated, and functional additive manufacturing applications.
"Teaming with Additive Industries will bring Sigma Labs closer to other companies working towards the goal of improved, reliable, high-volume additive manufacturing," said Mark Cola, president and CEO of Sigma Labs. "The technology agreement serves to increase collaboration around shared objectives in the 3-D printing space, and our PrintRite3D® quality assurance software will be tested with equipment currently being developed by Additive Industries.”
"Cooperating with Sigma Labs allows Additive Industries to improve the predictability of the 3-D print process, which is critical to advanced applications in markets like aerospace, medical technology, and high-tech equipment," added Daan Kersten, CEO of Additive Industries.
