TÜV Rheinland Industrial Solutions names COO

TÜV Rheinland Industrial Solutions (TRIS), an inspection, testing, and certification company in Boxborough, Mass., has appointed Robert C. Burns as COO. He is responsible for all operational aspects of the company, including staff management and profit and loss accountability.

Burns has more than 20 years of experience. He served previously as president and CEO of Applus RTD USA, where he managed the NDT and inspection company’s operations and directed the asset integrity management services to major oil and pipeline companies. He also was president and COO of PetroChem Inspection Services Inc. and vice president and general manager of HMT Inspection and Engineering Services.

Burns has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin.
