TVRheinland acquires Non-Destructive Testing Services

TVRheinland®, a supplier of independent testing, assessment, and certification services in Newtown, Conn., has acquired Non-Destructive Testing Services (NDT), a material inspection company based in Grand Rapids, Mich.

"With the addition of NDT, we can extend our capabilities to address the growing demand for material testing services among our customers. This also is part of our strategy to deepen our industrial services business globally with a greater presence in North America, and is our second such acquisition this year," said Stephan Schmitt, president and CEO of TUV Rheinland North America Holding Inc.

NDT's services include nondestructive testing methods, quality control and assurance functions, and physical testing for the aircraft, automotive, railroad, bridge/building, casting and forging, chemical, civil, Department of Transportation, electronics, light/heavy manufacturing, medical and prosthetics, petrochemical, and utility industries.

NDT has three laboratories for high-production nondestructive and mechanical testing services, located in Flint, Mich.; Caledonia, Mich.; and Aliquippa, Pa.
