WTTI achieves ISO 17025 accreditation

Welder Training & Testing Institute (WTTI), Allentown, Pa., has received its initial accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025 in the field of mechanical testing.

The following tests are published on the institute's scope: tensile, bend, fillet weld, nick break, macroetch, Brinell hardness, Vickers microhardness, Rockwell hardness, Charpy impact, chemical analysis, welding equipment verification, weld and braze evaluation and qualification, failure analysis, and visual inspection.

The accreditation permits acceptance of test and calibration data internationally. This allows the institute to conduct PED testing, which meets the European standard, and to meet upcoming requirements of ASME and other industry-related code requirements.
