Timken increases steel tubing prices

The Timken Corp. announced June 8 that it was raising prices on tubular steel products by 3 ½ percent to 10 percent, depending on size, grade, and finish.

That announcement was followed by another on June 17 that said Timken Alloy Steel Europe Ltd., a subsidiary of The Timken Company, would increase base prices on steel tubing by a minimum of 7.5 percent. The price increases apply to all tubing dispatched from July 1, 2004. Raw material surcharges will continue to be levied at the rates ruling at the date of dispatch.
