TRUMPF names general manager of Laser Technology Center

Dr. Christof Lehner has been appointed general manager of TRUMPF's Laser Technology Center in Plymouth, Mich. He is responsible for laser division sales, service, and support in North America, reporting to Rolf Biekert, president and CEO of TRUMPF Inc., Farmington, Conn.

Lehner joined TRUMPF Laser GmbH + Co. KG in Schramberg, Germany, in 2002 as a product manager for pulsed lasers, after completing his Dr.–Ing. (Ph.D.) in mechanical engineering at Technische Universität München. In 2003 he was promoted to head of sales for low-power lasers and later to head of sales, solid-state lasers. Lehner then transferred to TRUMPF Group headquarters in Ditzingen, Germany, where he most recently served as director of international sales, western Europe.

The Laser Technology Center specializes in lasers, including high-powered CO2 lasers and pulsed and CW solid-state lasers, as well as laser systems.
