Shaw establishes fabricating, manufacturing joint venture in Brazil

The Shaw Group Inc., Baton Rouge, La., has announced a new joint venture between Shaw's Fabrication & Manufacturing Group and Empresa Brasileira de Solda Eletrica S.A. (EBSE), a manufacturer and fabricator in Brazil.

The joint venture, EBSE Shaw Spool Solutions Fabricação de Sistemas de Tubulação Ltda. (ES3 do Brasil), provides prefabrication services for carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping systems from two existing facilities: one in the state of Pernambuco and another in Rio de Janeiro. It also will introduce Shaw's induction pipe bending technology for spool fabrication and large-diameter and heavy-wall bends, as well as high-efficiency production and management techniques for pipe fabrication.

Shaw provides piping, structural steel, and duct panel fabrication, as well as module assembly, pipe products, and proprietary bending technology for the power and process industries.
