Schwartz to offer swaging services

Schwartz Aviation LLC, Rogers, Ark., has added a line of end forming machines using the elastomeric internal swaging process. The machines produce high-strength, leakproof, internally swaged tubes, according to the company.
The elastomeric swaging process consists of a fitting that slips over the tube, the tube itself, and tooling that isolates the end of the tube and applies internal pressure to the tube to create a mechanical link between the tube and fitting. The process, which eliminates the need for inspection operations, produces mechanical tube fitting attachments without wall thinning and local stress concentrations.
