STI-SPFA bestows 2014 Steel Fabricated Product of the Year Awards in 13 categories

Steel Tank Institute-Steel Plate Fabricators Association (STI-SPFA), Lake Zurich, Ill., has recognized member companies in 13 product categories with its Steel Tank and Fabricated Product of the Year Awards for 2014. The awards recognize a product’s promotional value, uniqueness, design and engineering, and aesthetics.

The following companies earned Field Erected Storage Tank of the Year Awards:

• Caldwell Tanks Inc., Louisville, Ky.
• Paso Robles Tank Inc., Laguna Hills, Calif.
• CB&I Inc., Claremont, Calif.; Houston; and Plainfield, Ill.
• T. Bailey Inc., Anacortes, Wash.
• T.F. Warren Corp., The Woodlands, Texas

Three companies earned Fabricated Product of the Year Awards:

• Kennedy Tank & Mfg. Co. Inc., Indianapolis
• Paso Robles Tank Inc., Laguna Hills, Calif.
• Phoenix Fabricators & Erectors Inc., Avon, Ind.

Steel Water Pipe and Pipeline Project Awards were given to two companies:

• Mid-America Pipe Fabricating & Supply, Scammon, Kan.
• JIFCO Inc., Livermore, Calif.

The Affiliate Product of the Year Award went to CAB Inc., Buford, Ga.

In addition, 27 member plants received a Safety Award of Excellence for experiencing a zero OSHA total recordable incident rate for 12 consecutive months, and 30 received the Safety Award of Achievement, which acknowledges plant locations with a 10 percent minimum reduction in the OSHA total recordable incident rate with no fatalities in a calendar year.

The Member Leader in STI Technology Production was Watco Tanks, Floresville, Texas.
