STI-SPFA presents Hall of Fame, Member Service Awards

STI-SPFA has presented the Hall of Fame Award to Tim Woofter, owner and president of Stanwade Metal Products, Fowler, Ohio, and the Member Service Award to Larry Dildine, president of Phoenix Forging Co. in Catasauqua, Pa.

The Hall of Fame Award honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the organization. Woofter has served on the board of directors for 13 years, during which time he served two terms as president, two as vice president, and three as chairman. In addition, he has shared his steel tank fabrication expertise in developing Steel Tank Institute’s sti-P3, Fireguard, and Flameshield storage tank technologies. He currently serves on the Shop Fabricated Tank Technical Committee.

The Member Service Award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated dedication to the betterment of the association and its members through nontechnical contributions. Dildine is one of the association's most active affiliate (vendor) members. He established the Affiliate Committee in 1999 to represent this segment of the membership and served as affiliate representative on the board of directors in 1999 and 2009. Phoenix Forging Co. has been a consistent sponsor and exhibitor at the association’s member meetings.

Steel Plate Institute/Steel Plate Fabricators Association (STI/SPFA) is a nonprofit trade association for member companies that fabricate steel tanks, pipe, and pressure vessels for use in the petroleum, food, water, and chemical processing industries.
