Tube Specialties opens manufacturing facility in Mexico

Tube Specialties Co. (TSCO), Troutdale, Ore., a producer of fabricated steel tube components for the mobile equipment and transportation industries, has announced the opening of a new manufacturing and freight logistics facility in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico.

The initial phase of the project is a 70,000-sq.-ft. facility that manufactures the same steel tube products made at the company’s facilities in Oregon and North Carolina, including exhaust and fluid transfer components. The plant employees also provide logistical support for the products they make.

The new facility will employ up to 250 workers. Production will ramp in phases, with full manufacturing capacity realized by the end of 2011. A 130,000-sq.-ft. expansion is in the planning phase.
