Independence Tube announces new manufacturing facility

Independence Tube Corp., a structural tube producer, has announced plans for a new $30 million manufacturing facility to be built on the south bank of the Tennessee River in Decatur, Ala.

The 300,000-sq.-ft. facility will allow the company to supply its growing Southern market with structural steel tube products. The initial production range planned for the Decatur Division is 2 ½-in. square through 10-in. square, and 1/8-in. wall through 5/8-in. wall. The company expects the facility to begin production by 2005 and initially operate with 30 people.
