Mayville Engineering to purchase assets of Fabricating Specialists

September 16, 2008

Mayville Eng. Co. (MEC), a contract manufacturer in Mayville, Wis., has acquired the assets of Fabricating Specialists LLC, a manufacturer of formed tubular components and assemblies for the agricultural, architectural, construction, industrial, small-engine, recreational, and sports/fitness markets.

"Our intention is to locate the operations near Neillsville, Wisconsin, in proximity to a work force who has historically produced these products," said Robert D. Kamphuis, chairman, president, and CEO of MEC.

The company intends to operate Fabricating Specialists as a separate brand entity and hopes to attract many previously trained employees who would become owners of the company under MEC's employee stock ownership plan. Jim Grunewald and Steve Donovan will remain in their current positions as leaders of Fabricating Specialists.
