Axis Pipe and Tube begins construction on new plant
Axis Pipe and Tube Inc., a division of The Prolamsa Group, has broken ground in Bryan, Texas, for a new pipe and tube facility. The company will invest more than $150 million in the new plant.
By mid-2014, the 183-acre facility will produce more than 300,000 tons annually of ERW energy tubular products in diameters up to 16 in., with wall thicknesses up to 0.625 in., for the oil and natural gas industries. The plant will have a slitting line, mill, finishing floor, and heat treatment facilities, with capabilities for producing a variety of API grades. It is expected to employ more than 285 people at full capacity.
