Plymouth Tube to acquire Trent Tube's CWA plant

Plymouth Tube Co. has signed a letter of intent to acquire Trent Tube's cold work anneal (CWA) plant located in East Troy, Wis. Syracuse, N.Y.-based Crucible Materials Corp. is Trent Tube's parent company.

Trent Tube's Trentweld plant, located in East Troy, and its Trent Processing Plant, located in Chicago, are excluded from the letter of intent.

Constructed in 1970, the 134,000-sq.-ft. CWA plant produces small-diameter tubing from 0.500 in. to 2.000 in. OD with wall thicknesses from 0.018 in. to 0.134 in. It features a continuous length capability up to 135 ft..

The acquisition will involve Plymouth Tube in manufacturing high-alloy and ferritic stainless steels, such as AL6XN®, Sea-Cure®, 439, and 430.
