AST Waterjet installs five-axis cutting table

AST Waterjet, Irving, Texas, has installed a Romeo five-axis waterjet cutting table. It has a 96- by 144-in. cutting bed with 36 in. of clearance. The cutting head tilts to 90 degrees off vertical and rotates a full 360 degrees, making it suitable for cutting simple bevels or complex shapes into any material.The waterjet cutting table also is equipped with a second three-axis head to increase the number of parts that can be cut at once. According to the company, the table is the first of its kind in Texas. The company's existing processes includes a CNC rotary indexer for cutting pipe, as well as other waterjet and laser cutting tables.
