Flow Intl. to use Nexen roller pinion systems in waterjet machines - TheFabricator.com

Nexen Group Inc., Vadnais Heights, Minn., has entered into an exclusive agreement with Flow Intl. Corp., Kent, Wash., to use Nexen's roller pinion system for Flow’s new line of waterjet machines.

The system offers linear positioning with zero backlash for high-precision motion control applications, the company states. The pinion comprises bearing-supported rollers that engage a tooth profile. Each unique tooth profile is measured to help ensure positional accuracy and eliminate cumulative error. The racks are available in standard cut lengths of 39.37 and 19.69 in.; custom lengths also are offered.
