Miro Tool adds waterjet technology

Miro Tool & Mfg. has added a Mitsubishi 510 Suprema waterjet machine with a 90,000-PSI KMT pump to its facility in Waukesha, Wis. The 40,000-sq.-ft. plant houses equipment for engineering, prototyping, tooling, stamping, fabrication, welding, assembly, and machining.

The DX waterjet series is constructed with a design that separates the machine frame from the work tank so that machining accuracy is not affected by large or heavy workpieces. The gantry-style movement system travels the rigidly constructed X-axis bridge on a set of LM guides driven by dual brushless, AC servomotors and high-pitch, 1.26-in., double-anchored ball screws for positioning accuracy.
