February 2, Ohio Governor Ted Strickland visited Wayne Trail Technologies in Fort Loramie, Ohio.
Company officials took Strickland for a tour of the facility before he addressed employees and state and county officials. He was introduced by the company President and CEO Dave Knapke, who thanked the governor for taking time out of his schedule to visit the company.
I'm pleased to be here, but never like to interfere with productivity," Strickland joked to the workers on hand before beginning his speech. "This company has a bright and growing future, and I wouldn't be surprised if in 10 years' time, it is known across the nation."
Strickland later went on to commend the company's efforts at continually helping the work force retool and stay current.
Founded in Fort Loramie in 1962 as a tool and die company, Wayne Trail has evolved into an engineering-based form that designs, build, and installs high-technology, automated manufacturing systems for a wide range of markets and companies. Among these markets are automotive, aerospace (military and commercial), appliance, HVAC (heating, ventilating, and air conditioning), hardware, electronics, and medical. The company also works with the emerging markets involving various green technology and alternative energies including solar, wind, fuel cell, batteries, and nuclear.
The company has three facilities, all in Fort Loramie.
