Weiler donates to training for returning vets

Weiler Corp., Cresco, Pa., has donated wire brushes, grinding wheels, hand brushes, and tools for a veterans training program run by the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry (UA).

UA has partnered with the U.S. military to create the Veterans in Piping (VIP) program, which provides returning vets with 16 weeks of accelerated welding training. This free training is offered to 16 veterans in each course. Well-trained, skilled welders are in high demand nationwide.

The program is held at Camp Pendleton, Calif. A second training school is under development for 2011 at Camp Lejeune, N.C., and Weiler plans to support the new school as well.
