Parts transfer system helps increase productivity on tandem press lines

ABB offers the IRB 6660FX, a flexible transfer system for medium-size parts. Suitable for use with new and existing press lines, the system comprises a dual-action unit that creates a 7-axis robot, allowing parts to be transferred rapidly along a linear path without rotation.

The system also is equipped with integrated dynamic model control to coordinate the seven axes for speed and accuracy. It runs on StampWare, the manufacturer’s proprietary software package designed to facilitate interaction between operator and press cell. Available on the robot FlexPendant, the software includes a graphical programming wizard that helps operators program the robots without having to master the programming language.
