Permanent magnet-based magnetic drill line introduced

ALFRA USA, a subsidiary of Alfred Raith, Hockenheim, Germany, has introduced a permanent magnet-based magnetic drill line. A nonelectric magnetic base allows the drill to adhere to materials as thin as 20 ga. and drill with conventional annular cutters.

Residual magnetism allows for positioning the drill before applying full magnetic power. The magnet is activated by pressing down an inline lever, making it suitable for narrow applications.

The nonelectric technology eliminates burnout and replacement of large PCB boards.

The drills are available in 1½-in. and 2-in. versions.
