The Dimension NT 450 multiprocess welding power source from Miller Electric Mfg. Co. provides a CC/CV welding output for GMAW, SMAW, and Lift-Arc DC GTAW, as well as carbon arc gouging.
The unit has a duty cycle of 100 percent at 450 amps/38 V, an output amperage of 5 to 500 amps, and a voltage of 10 to 38 V. Low-amperage output provides low-end GTAW arc control, and the low-voltage range provides high-performance short-circuit GMAW on thin materials or open-root joints with beveled edges, the company reports.
The 376-lb. unit uses three-phase input power (230, 460, or 575 VAC) and features line voltage compensation to keep the welding output constant even if input power varies by &plusnm; 10 percent.
