Auto-darkening welding shields let user select sensitivity

3M has introduced its WS series of welding shields for protection against eye injuries caused by arc welding, including ultraviolet and infrared radiation.
The WS-320/37154 for SMAW, GMAW/MAG, and GTAW features an auto-darkening filter and allows the user to select from three variable dark-state shade levels of 10, 11, and 12. The filter is shade 4 in the light state. Two user-selectable sensitivity levels help provide arc detection in differing work and environmental conditions.
The WS-110/37155 features a standard shade-10 glass filter plate.
