Autodarkening welding helmet suitable for maintenance and construction workers, hobbyists

3M has introduced the 3M™ Speedglas™ 100 welding helmet and welding filter series. It is available in several graphic patterns or standard black.
The helmet is suitable for maintenance or construction workers and hobbyists who weld occasionally but still need a quality autodarkening welding filter, the company reports. It can be used for most arc welding processes, such as SMAW, GMAW, and many GTAW applications.
Three autodarkening filters are available. The 100V has five user-selectable dark shades, from shade 8 to shade 12, with a light shade of 3. It also has three sensitivity settings: a normal setting for most indoor/outdoor welding, a setting for when other welders are working nearby, and a setting for stable-arc welding (such as GTAW). The 100S-10 and 100S-11 have fixed dark shades of 10 and 11, respectively, and a light shade of 3. They are available only in the standard black helmet.
Optional accessories include ear and neck protection, a magnifying lens holder, magnifying lenses in four strengths, and a variety of sweatbands.
