Electronic welding regulator helps improve gas coverage while reducing flow rates

Regula offers an electronic welding regulator that controls the flow of shielding gas used in GMAW and GTAW processes by regulating the gas flow proportionately to the amps being pulled by the welding machine.

The regulator also pulses the gas flow through a patented valve that opens and closes 50 to 60 times per second. This pulsed gas flow helps improve gas coverage of the molten metal pool while reducing flow rates.

Other electronic pressure and flow sensors are combined with the proprietary software and hardware to reduce gas consumption by 40 to 60 percent, the manufacturer reports.
