GMAW system introduced

Miller Electric Mfg. Co. has introduced the Continuum™ 500 industrial GMAW system. According to the company, the machine offers improved arc starts and stable arc performance for welding on thick or thin metals.

The modular system, which features user-friendly controls, provides 500 amps of welding power at 100 percent duty cycle for semiautomatic welding. The Accu-Pulse™ process helps improve arc performance to allow faster travel speeds. Regulated Metal Deposition (RMD®) improvements provide reduced heat input and a forgiving arc to simplify the management of varying torch angles and designs. The high-deposition GMAW function offers a lower heat input than a standard spray transfer while still providing as much as 33 percent more deposition when welding thicker material and larger welds.

An intuitive interface allows setup and adjustment with minimal training. An LCD shows complete words, graphics, and numeric values, while memory buttons allow weld operators to change programs quickly and easily. A remote connection provides simplified viewing and adjustment of the machine parameters from almost anywhere in the world via Internet-enabled devices.
