Hand-held unit monitors weld oxygen content

Huntingdon Fusion Techniques HFT® offers the PurgEye® 100 Weld Purge Monitor® to help obtain nonoxidized, zero-color welds by monitoring the oxygen content. The unit is suitable for use when purging with inert gas and when welding metals such as stainless steel, titanium, and nickel alloy, which require a high-quality weld.
The IP65-rated, hand-held unit reads from atmospheric level (20.94 percent) down to 100 PPM. It comes with leaktight push buttons; autocalibration features; vacuum-sealed, leaktight probe assembly; wrist/neck strap; optional rubber housing protector; and tripod mount.
The monitor can be used up to 18 months before the low sensor indicator appears on the screen. Once that icon appears, it provides the user with adequate time to obtain a new sensor, which can be fitted on-site without changing electrical wiring, and the unit can be calibrated simply by the user.
