Metal-cored electrodes suitable for weldments requiring painting

April 11, 2006

Select-Arc Inc. offers two carbon steel, gas-shielded, composite metal-cored electrodes that have a high tolerance of mill scale and rust. Both are suitable for weldments that require painting.

The Select 70C-6LS electrode minimizes silicon islands and delivers good weld bead appearance and tie-in, the company reports. It also facilitates a smooth spray arc transfer and little spatter.

The Select 70C-7 produces low spatter and fume generation and has a flat, equal-legged profile with few silicon islands and good bead geometry.
