Robotic welding power source offers online integration

The new-edition Aristo® Mig 5000iR robotic welding power source from ESAB Welding & Cutting Products offers improved arc starts, enhanced arc stability, and an improved crater-fill function at weld stop, says the company.

The 500-amp unit’s robot interface offers increased storage and improved communication speed. A built-in robotic interface module (W82) and built-in web server allow remote access by a variety of external devices, including robotic controllers. The power source integrates with the company’s WeldCloud™ online data management platform via Wi-Fi, mobile cellular, or hard-wired Ethernet communication.

The machine supports GMAW, pulsed GMAW, SuperPulse™, and cored-wire processes, as well as Swift Arc Transfer (SAT™), a process that uses the company’s OK AristoRod™ 12.50 noncopper-coated ER70S-6 wire. The process enables wire feed speeds up to 1,200 IPM.
