Semiautomatic wire feeder designed for shipbuilding, offshore, construction, pipe welding applications - TheFabricator.com

Designed for use in shipbuilding, offshore, construction, or pipe welding operations, the Activ8™ modular wire feeder from Lincoln Electric is small enough to fit through ship manways and light enough to carry around the site.

The 27-lb., portable wire feeder can feed self-shielded FCAW or FCAW-G and GMAW gas-shielded wires at 50 to 800 IPM. It handles 0.023- to 0.052-in.-dia. GMAW wires and 0.035- to 0.078-in.-dia. FCAW wires. The unit is rated at 330 amps at 60 percent duty cycle.

Designed for 8-in. spools, the machine is compatible with any DC CV or CC power source. Controls include a front WFS knob and internal booted cold feed and gas purges, trigger interlock, and CV/CC switches.

The MAXTRAC dual-gear-driven drive system features a toolless drive roller and wire guide changes for simplified spool replacement. A tachometer-controlled motor powers the drive rolls for smooth feeding without wire slippage.
