Stainless steel electrode designed to handle food service welding applications - TheFabricator.com

Arcos Industries LLC has introduced a bare-wire stainless steel electrode that resists corrosion and is designed to handle food service welding applications.

Arcos 309LSi was developed with a higher silicon content to deliver smooth bead appearance and good wetting action. This wire provides good resistance to both general corrosion and intergranular corrosion, the company states.

Designed for general-purpose GMAW and GTAW, the electrode also is suitable for surfacing lower-alloyed steels and for joining clad steels and dissimilar joints. It generates a smooth fillet profile for applications such as beverage tanks and food service equipment.

The electrode is available in diameters from 0.035 to 0.1875 in.
