Tube cutting machine recycles heavy-wall weld coupons

May 27, 2014

The new CouponMASTER™ weld coupon machine from Tri Tool is suitable for use in union halls, colleges, and trade schools where high numbers of weld coupons are used in training and certification programs for welders qualifying with heavy-wall pipe. The unit reuses and recycles postwelded training and weld test coupons.

With the average precut and prebeveled 2-in.-dia. (NPS) weld test coupon being 4 in. long, the tube cutting machine can perform at least four reclamation cycles (considering a 0.125-in. HAZ removal tolerance) for postwelded coupons.

Available in electric or air-motor versions, the machine is based on the manufacturer’s model 208B BEVELMASTER® pipe beveling machine. It incorporates a strong, integral base stand for benchtop mounting.
