Two welding processes added to GMAW system

Miller Electric Mfg. Co., Appleton, Wis., has introduced the Continuum™ 350 industrial GMAW system. Providing 350 amps of power at 100 percent duty cycle, it is designed to offer exceptional arc starts and arc stability for welding on both thick and thin materials, the company reports.

The machine features two new welding processes. Versa-Pulse™ is a low-heat, low-spatter process that delivers fast travel speeds for semiautomatic and automated welding applications. This process is suitable for welding on thin materials (up to 0.25 in.), such as sheet metal and tube applications.

A high-deposition GMAW process offers higher deposition rates and lower heat input than standard spray transfer, the company reports. The process is suitable for thicker materials and on larger welds (0.24 to 0.31 in.), resulting in faster welding, increased productivity, and better quality.

The machine comes with Insight Core™, an Internet-based welding information management system that monitors, collects, and rapidly transmits actionable data to any web-connected device.
