Wire designed to ease cleanup

Hobart Brothers offers its Fabshield 21B self-shielded flux-cored wire designed to ease post-weld cleanup and increase portability.

Suitable for general-purpose welding, light fabrication, and use on noncritical applications, the wire performs well on fillet and lap welds on galvanized or mild steel measuring up to in. thick, the company says. It also works well on lightly primered steels.

The wire requires no external shielding gas. It produces a smooth spray-like transfer that creates low spatter levels and can be used with various power sources and using DCEN.

The wire is available in 0.045-in., 1/16-in., 0.068-in., 5/64-in., and 3/32-in. dia. on 10- or 33-lb. spools. It also is available in 1/16-in. dia, 50-lb. coils for higher volume applications.
